Police Helicopters Called To Scene Of Rollover Crash That Trapped Two In Maryland (Developing)

Two police helicopters were called to the scene of a rollover crash that trapped two victims in Maryland on Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3.

The two-car crash was reported on Route 15 near Basford Road in Point of Rocks shortly after 1:50 p.m., Frederick County Fire & Rescue said.

Two occupants were trapped following the collision, requiring a request for additional rescue squads.

Two troopers were then called to land police helicopters near Route 15.

Both victims had been extricated as of about 2:20 p.m., authorities said in an update.

Route 15 was shut down in both directions at Basford Road as crews responded. Drivers were asked to use an alternate route.
